Rabat – In a heated third match of the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), Egypt will compete to secure a spot in the round of 16.
The Pharaohs will play their third group stage game against Cape Verde this evening at the Felix Houphouet-Boigny.
The decisive battle will kick off at 9 p.m. Moroccan Time, with the streaming going on the Sky Sports Mix channel and the Sky Go application.
Cape Verde is topping Group B standings with 6 points, first winning over Ghana 2-1 and then largely on Mozambique 3-0.
With two consecutive wins, the Cape Verdean team has secured an early qualification for the round of 16, along with the defending champion Senegal.
Following two draws against Mozambique and Ghana, Egypt will seek to regain the footballistic skills it has always impressed its fans with, to restore confidence in their supporters.
Egypt is now ranked second in the standings with 2 points, but tough competition is awaiting since one victory is enough for Ghana or Mozambique to qualify alongside Cape Verde.
