Rabat – King Mohammed VI has extended his congratulations to Fatima Zahra El Mansouri on her election as a coordinator of the collective leadership of the General Secretariat of Authenticity and Modernity (PAM).
“We are pleased to congratulate you on the success of the proceedings of the fifth congress of your party and the formulation it achieved, aiming to establish organizational governance, renew the performance of the roles constitutionally granted to political parties, and solidify its position among the serious parties engaged in the democratic and national developmental project,” the King said.
The monarch concluded his statement by extending his congratulations to El Mansouri on her election as coordinator of the collective leadership of the General Secretariat of PAM.
PAM’s national council elected the collective leadership at the party’s congress in Rabat, held on February 9-10. The collective includes Mohammed Mehdi Ben Said, and Sahal Eddine Abu Al Ghali.
This newly elected leadership will replace the collective led by Abdellatif Ouahbi, the former leader of the PAM secretariat.
Ouahbi, who is also Morocco’s Justice Minister, announced that he would not seek a second term at the opening of the congress on Friday last week.

In his statement, the King said El Mansouri’s election speaks to the positive momentum women’s empowerment has recently experienced in Morocco, with many Moroccan women gaining access to leadership positions in the corporate and political worlds.
“This election not only confirms the extent of the appreciation you enjoy among the members of your political body, considering your commitment to defending the party’s principles, whether as a dedicated member involved in its project since its establishment, or as the chairwoman of its national council, or as an elected representative on its behalf, but also reflects the deserved status that the Moroccan woman has attained in various fields of national life,” the King added.
Converging reports indicated that it was El Mansouri who proposed the collective leadership for the party, stressing that the “unique” approach sought to include party members who engaged in politics from different positions.
“They are mostly young, and have run for office at both the national and local levels, prioritizing grassroots politics,” a recent report quoted her as saying.
