Rabat – Alonso Group, a prominent Spanish logistics company, has expanded its operations into Morocco with the launch of Alonso Forwarding Morocco.
Situated in Casablanca, the new branch marks a strategic move to enhance the Alonso Group’s presence in North Africa.
Alonso Forwarding Morocco is already up and running, offering a comprehensive range of logistics services, including third-party logistics (3PL), the company said in a statement.
With a focus on maritime transport, the branch handles various cargo types, from full container loads (FCL) to consolidation (LCL).
In addition, the office facilitates land transport exchanges between Morocco, the Iberian Peninsula – Spain-Portugal -, and Europe, catering to groupage, LCL, and full truck loads (FTL).
“We aim to establish regular connections between Europe and Morocco while bolstering our logistics division to become a frontrunner in road services between Spain and Morocco,” Alonso Forwarding Morocco noted in its statement.
Plans are already underway to establish a second office in Tangiers in line with the company’s strategy to solidify Alonso Group’s footprint in Morocco.
This expansion into Morocco aligns with Alonso Group’s broader international expansion strategy, which includes a strong presence in key global trade hubs across Asia, North America, Central America, South America, and Europe.
In its statement, the company hailed Morocco’s strategic investments in maritime and rail infrastructure, including the expansion of the Tangier Med port and high-speed rail network. These investments position the North African country as a maritime power and a prime example of nearshoring, the company argued.
Morocco’s growing construction sector, particularly in infrastructure development for the upcoming joint-hosting of the Football World Cup in 2030, further reflects its economic potential.
