Rabat – Saudi leaders have offered their condolences to King Mohammed VI over the death of his mother, Princess Lalla Latifa.
King Salman of Saudi Arabia and his son Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman both shared their compassion and deepest, sincere condolences on the death of the princess.
Morocco announced her death on Saturday, with the news sparking condolences and support for the royal Moroccan family from world leaders, public figures, and citizens from around the globe.
UAE leaders as well as King Abdullah II of Jordan have also sent cables of condolences to the King as well as President Abdelmadjid Tebboune of Algeria.
“I extend my sincere condolences and sympathy to King Mohammed VI of Morocco and his family on the passing of his mother, Princess Lalla Latifa. May God have mercy on her and rest her soul in eternal peace,” UAE President Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan wrote on X on Saturday.
The UK and US missions also conveyed their countries’ condolences to the monarch.
“On behalf of the United States government and the American people, we extend our deepest condolences and sincere sympathy to His Majesty and to the royal family on this painful occasion,” the US mission wrote on Saturday.
As for the UK embassy, it announced that it will lower its flags to half-mast at all its diplomatic representations across Morocco to honor the memory of Princess Lalla Latifa.
Moroccan officials and institutions also offered condolences to the monarch.
Today, the Royal Armed Forces expressed deep sadness and sorrow following the death of the princess.
Head of Government Aziz Akhannouch and Minister of Education Chakib Benmoussa also offered their condolences on Saturday along with a growing list of Moroccan officials and public figures.
