Rabat – Atlas Lioness Anissa Lahmari has sealed a two-season deal with Spanish Levante UD Femenino, marking a notable addition to the team’s midfield.
Hailing from Saint-Cloud, France, Lahmari brings a wealth of experience and international pedigree to her new team.
The midfielder arrives from Levante Las Planas, where her dynamic playstyle saw her tally seven goals across 27 appearances last season.
This impressive track record at Levante Las Planas caught the attention of Levante UD’s management.
Born to an Algerian father and a Moroccan mother, Lahmari has had the unique distinction of representing three national teams throughout her career.
She initially wore the colors of France at the U17 and U19 levels before making a switch to Algeria, where she made her debut in a 4-0 win in a friendly match against Tanzania.
However, it was her call-up by Morocco that truly reflected her rising stature in women’s football.
Selected for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup held in Australia and New Zealand, Lahmari made a lasting impact by scoring a crucial goal for Morocco against Colombia during the group stage.
Her stellar performance on the pitch earned her the accolade of the match’s best player, which solidified her reputation as a standout talent in the global football arena.
“From Levante UD we welcome you to your new home,” the Atlas Lionesse’s new club wrote on their website as they announced the news to their excited fans.
