FIFA Talent coach Thabo Senong has joined the growing list of athletes and highly regarded footballing officials who continue to celebrate and recognize Morocco’s football prowess.
In a new interview featured on the website CAFonline, the coach ranked Morocco among the top five African football nations.
Asked about who he thinks tops the list, he said that Morocco, Cote d’Ivoire, Senegal, Nigeria, and South Africa are among the top. He cited the countries’ efforts to contribute to football players’ development as the reason why they are leading the continent’s football scene.
“It’s a tough question, but I think Morocco, Cote d’Ivoire, Senegal, Nigeria, and South Africa are among the top five if you look at how they continue to export young talents in top European leagues,” he said.
He also commended how young talents are also taking part in local competitive leagues and their performance on the continental stage.
Moococ is among the countries that host national competitions for youth including U20 and U23 reserves leagues to “prepare young talents” for the competitive demands of football, he stressed.
