So when exactly will Ramadan start this year? The answer to the question differs from one source to another, depending on the region.
Converging reports expect Ramadan to begin on March 2 in several countries, including Morocco.
Most astronomers expect Sha’ban, the month preceding Ramadan, to end on March 1. In which case the holy month of Ramadan will start on March 2.
Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia and other Gulf countries are likely going to start fasting on March 1.
The official announcements confirming these widely accepted predictions will only come once each country’s top religious authorities confirm sighting the Ramadan crescent moon on Friday next week.

These special prayers are usually celebrated every night during the holy month when Muslims fast from dawn to sunset.
The exchange of visits between families is also part of the joyous Ramadan rituals. Muslims are encouraged to increase their charities and also help feed those who cannot afford daily iftar.
Outdoor activities are also a favorite for many during the holy month.
After, cafes and shops open their doors to clients, who prefer nightlife.
