Rabat – Keiko Fujimori, head of Peru’s Popular Force party, expressed her party’s unwavering support for Morocco’s sovereignty and territorial unity during a visit to Rabat on Monday.

Currently on a working trip to Morocco, the Peruvian politician shared her position in a meeting with Rachid Talbi El Alami, President of the Moroccan House of Representatives.

According to a statement from Morocco’s Parliament, Fujimori emphasized the importance her party places on the North African country’s stability and territorial integrity.

Speaking during the meeting, she said her time in Morocco provided her with a closer look at the country’s political and development path. She pointed to Morocco’s reforms and its regional leadership as areas of interest and inspiration.

Talbi El Alami used the opportunity to outline Morocco’s key reforms in politics, the economy, and social policy.

He gave his guest a detailed overview of Morocco’s legislative system, the powers of the House of Representatives as outlined in the 2011 Constitution, and recent updates related to the national cause.

Peru’s Congress passed last month a motion with broad support urging the Foreign Ministry to back Morocco’s Autonomy Plan for the Western Sahara, calling it the most realistic and credible path toward resolving the dispute.

The motion described the initiative as aligned with Peru’s long-standing principles in favor of sovereignty and territorial integrity and called on the government to defend Morocco’s position in international forums.

Morocco’s autonomy Plan for Western Sahara has gained notable momentum in recent months, with growing international recognition positioning the proposal as the most realistic basis for resolving the long-standing dispute.

Since Morocco first introduced the plan to the UN in 2007, it has continued to attract support for its emphasis on stability, regional development, and respect for territorial integrity.

Morocco has strengthened its standing with increased engagement in diplomatic forums and sustained outreach efforts, leading many observers and world governments to embrace the Moroccan initiative’s call for a forward-looking and pragmatic path to a lasting political solution.
