Doha – A new chapter unfolds for Fairmont La Marina Rabat-Salé with the arrival of Swiss hospitality veteran Yves Mudry as General Manager.

Inaugurated in 2022 on the Bouregreg riverbanks, the luxury establishment welcomes this seasoned professional who brings over two decades of international expertise to Morocco’s emblematic hotel.

With an educational foundation from the prestigious École hôtelière de Lausanne complemented by an MBA from Glion Institute of Higher Education completed between 2012-2016, Mudry has cultivated an impressive career trajectory within Accor Group’s top-tier brands.

His professional path began in Indonesia, where he served as Food and Beverage Manager at Le Meridien Nirwana Golf and Spa Resort in Bali from 1997 to 2000, before advancing to similar roles in Bangkok from 2000 to 2002.

Mudry’s career accelerated when he became Resident Manager at Le Royal Meridien Baan Taling Ngam in Thailand from 2002 to 2004.

His talent for launching new properties became evident as he went on to open Le Meridien Angkor in Cambodia (2004-2007), Le Meridien Chiang Mai in Thailand (2007-2012), and worked on pre-opening project development for Le Meridien Saigon in Vietnam (2012-2013).

After a brief stint as General Manager at Hotel Nendaz 4 Vallees and Spa in Switzerland, where he opened and launched a 4-star superior hotel complex with an integrated 2,200 sqm spa, Mudry returned to Asia.

There, he showcased his talent at SO/Bangkok, an iconic hotel known for its avant-garde design, where he successfully balanced innovation with operational excellence from 2014 to 2017.

His most recent position before joining Fairmont La Marina Rabat-Salé was at Raffles Jakarta, where he spent eight years elevating the property to a luxury benchmark in Southeast Asia.

Under his leadership, the team achieved the 2018 Condé Nast Traveler Reader’s Choice Awards, ranking #4 in Asia and #47 globally.

Upon accepting this new role, Mudry stated: “I am honored to join the Fairmont La Marina Rabat-Salé, a place of exception where contemporary elegance and the art of luxury converse with the Moroccan soul.”

He added: “Fairmont La Marina Rabat-Salé embodies a unique encounter between Moroccan heritage and international refinement.”

He continued: “With our teams, we have the ambition to magnify this balance by creating unforgettable experiences every day for travelers from around the world, cultivating excellence, authenticity, and the art of hospitality.”

Driven by a long-term vision, Mudry advocates for hospitality grounded in finesse, sincere attention, and territorial anchoring.

His management style, both demanding and human-centered, rests on a simple conviction: excellence is built daily with teams, for travelers.

A jewel on the Bouregreg estuary

Ideally situated on the Bouregreg estuary, just minutes from Rabat-Salé International Airport and a 10-minute drive from downtown, Fairmont La Marina Rabat-Salé stands as a tribute to modern Morocco, rooted in timeless traditions.

The hotel is renowned for its refined architecture and panoramic views of the iconic Kasbah des Oudayas.

Designed by the renowned Foster & Partners architecture firm in collaboration with Moroccan architect Abdelouahed Mountassir, the property houses a 186-room hotel including 27 suites.

Among these are four Ocean Suites, four Heritage Suites, and a majestic Ambassador Suite, alongside a residential complex comprising 88 residences of timeless elegance.

Beyond exceptional service, distinctive of the Fairmont brand, the establishment offers a wide range of farm-to-table and ocean-to-table culinary experiences through its three restaurants and bar, satisfying sophisticated travelers’ palates.

The hotel also features a fitness center and a year-round heated rooftop pool with breathtaking sunrise and sunset views and a 360° panorama of the region’s iconic monuments.

For business travelers seeking modular spaces equipped with cutting-edge technology, Fairmont La Marina Rabat-Salé’s conference center offers nine meeting rooms, including a VIP Majliss, a majestic Ballroom, seven committee rooms, and an intuitive and passionate event planning service.

In his LinkedIn profile, Mudry notes that this position marks his first time in Morocco, describing his start at Fairmont La Marina Rabat-Salé as “an absolute wonder,” adding that “the hotel, the team, and the city are all fantastic, making this a truly exciting chapter in my career.”

This appointment signals a new era for Fairmont La Marina Rabat-Salé as it seeks to strengthen its position among the region’s most prestigious hotel destinations, continuing the legacy of Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, which has been creating sumptuous addresses deeply connected to local culture and history since 1907.
