Rabat – After Al Nassr’s season‐ending 3–2 defeat to Al Fateh on May 26, Cristiano Ronaldo fuelled speculation over his next move with a cryptic Instagram message.

The 40-year-old scored his 25th league goal of the season last night, meaning he retains his top-scorer crown from last season for the second year in a row after finishing last season with 35 goals
Since joining Al Nassr in 2023, Ronaldo has played 111 matches and scored 98 goals. He has won one trophy, the Arab Club Champions Cup, but the team has yet to claim a Saudi Pro League or Asian title since his arrival.
They also missed out on a spot in the 2024 FIFA Club World Cup after losing to Al Ain in the quarter-finals, with Moroccan striker Sofiane Rahimi delivering an impressive hat-trick against Ronaldo’s team. The Portuguese star’s contract is set to expire at the end of this season, leaving him free to sign with any club he chooses.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino recently confirmed on a stream with YouTuber Speed that Cristiano Ronaldo is in the process of joining a club that will be participating in the upcoming Club World Cup, set to kick off on June 15 in the United States.
Infantino hinted at the possibility of the move, stating: “Ronaldo might play for one of the teams as well at the Club World Cup.”
He added, “There are discussions with some clubs, so if any club is watching and is interested in hiring Ronaldo for the Club World Cup… who knows, who knows.”
Cristiano Ronaldo has been rumored to be considering a move to a Brazilian club ahead of the Club World Cup in the United States this summer.
Among the four Brazilian teams participating in the expanded 32-team tournament are Palmeiras, Flamengo, Fluminense, and Botafogo.
A potential signing with Palmeiras could lead to a highly anticipated clash with Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami in Group A.
