Copenhagen have announced the signings of Moroccan under-17 internationals Ahmed Mouhoub and Driss Ait Cheikh, two of the standout players from the country’s recent youth success.

Mouhoub, a 17-year-old midfielder with Fath Rabat, will link up with the Danish club’s under-19 squad in January 2026, once he reaches the legal age to sign a professional contract. Copenhagen described him as “a mentally and physically strong midfielder with high technical qualities.”

Ait Cheikh, also 17, joins from Chabab Mohammedia. The left-back, who caught the eye during the Africa U-17 Cup of Nations, will move in July 2026 after interest from several European sides. He has been labelled “a modern defender, strong physically and mentally, with a big desire to develop.”

Both players played central roles in Morocco’s historic U17 Africa Cup of Nations triumph earlier this year — the first in the country’s history — after defeating Mali in the final.

Their next challenge comes quickly. Morocco are preparing for the U17 World Cup in Qatar, running from 3 to 27 November 2025, the first edition to feature 48 teams. Matches will be staged across Doha’s Aspire Zone, with the final set for Khalifa International Stadium.

Morocco have been drawn in Group B alongside Japan, New Caledonia and Portugal, and are currently in camp at the Mohammed VI Football Complex in Maâmoura.
