Mohammedia – The ONMT has recently launched a comprehensive nationwide consultation involving various tourism stakeholders to enhance promotion for Morocco’s tourism on both domestic and international fronts over the next five years.
This initiative is part of the Office’s extensive roadmap for 2026-2030, which seeks to synchronize strategic planning with practical realities amid changing dynamics of the global tourism landscape.
Achraf Fayda, Director General of ONMT, emphasized the importance of this collaborative approach, stating that the consultation allows the Office to anchor its strategy in real-world needs while projecting Morocco toward greater ambitions.
“Through this consultation, we aim to move Morocco from being a strong destination to one that is even more influential, capable of competing in the most competitive markets worldwide,” Fayda explained.
The consultation process focuses on four key pillars: air transport, distribution, image, and digitalization. These pillars will guide concrete programs, from diversifying source markets, to well-crafted storytelling for the destination, and campaigns targeted at a greater international audience.
The ultimate goal is to position Morocco among the top 15 global destinations and host more than 26 million tourists by 2030 while maintaining tourist satisfaction. .
Hamid Bentahar, the President of the National Tourism Confederation, emphasized the collaborative aspect of this initiative. “This consultation signifies a robust collective dynamic. In conjunction with industry professionals, we aim to elevate Morocco’s tourism sector, progressing from co-construction to co-development and hastening growth.”
The initiatives undertaken by the ONMT emphasize a transition toward inclusivity and practicality, guaranteeing that policies will emulate the viewpoints of operators, regional stakeholders and industry experts.
Through active involvement with the wider tourism industry, the Office aspires to develop a strategy that is simultaneously feasible and forward-looking, establishing the groundwork for Morocco to strengthen and enhance its global attractiveness.
In the next few months, the ONMT is expected to translate these discussions into tangible programs. These programs are expected to cover market diversification, better promotion strategies, as well as the integration of modern technologies to stimulate the growth of tourism.
This national consultation represents a crucial step toward a more competitive and internationally recognized tourism industry, reflecting Morocco’s commitment to innovation, collaboration, and sustainable development.
