Rabat – Cadi Ayyad University in Marrakech has won a silver medal at the 20th Silicon Valley International Invention Festival (SVIIF 2025), held from August 8 to 10 in Santa Clara, California.
This prestigious award confirms the university’s ongoing commitment to technological innovation and sustainable development.
Cadi Ayyad University was represented by its most recent patent, MA61006, published in 2025, developed by Professor Said El Beid and PhD candidate Abdelkhalek Chellakhi at the Research Laboratory for Innovative and Sustainable Technologies within the National School of Applied Sciences (ENSA) in Marrakech.
The patent introduces a novel approach to optimizing Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) in photovoltaic systems, significantly improving energy efficiency in response to changing climate conditions.
The award was granted by the International Federation of Inventors’ Associations (IFIA) in collaboration with OFEED, confirming Cadi Ayyad University’s growing influence as a key player in the international innovation landscape.
The recognition also showcases the university’s strategic role in advancing applied research and technological innovation, focused on delivering practical solutions with high societal impact.
With this achievement, Cadi Ayyad University continues to strengthen its international presence and reaffirms its ambition to support major scientific and technological transitions.
The recognition highlights the active contribution of its researchers to sustainable development and emerging technologies, further positioning Morocco as a rising force within global innovation networks.
In 2020, the university was ranked the leading academic institution in Morocco and the Maghreb, and 13th among universities in the Arab world, according to the Regional Universities Forum for Capacity Building in Agriculture (RUFORUM).
