Marrakech – United Airlines is expanding its nonstop seasonal service between Marrakech and New York/Newark (EWR) with a seat offer increase of over 43% for winter 2025-2026. This expansion marks the airline’s highest ever capacity from Marrakech since the route was launched last year.
Beginning October 26, United will increase flight frequencies from three to four times weekly, operating on Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. During the holiday season from December 19, to January 6, 2026, the airline will offer daily flights on this route.
“With this substantial expansion of our Marrakech schedule just a year after the route was first launched, we are delighted to offer our customers in Morocco even greater travel choice when booking their next US getaway for the upcoming winter season,” said Amit Badiani, Head of Africa and Offline Europe Sales at United Airlines.
The flight schedule shows that flight UA 627 will depart Marrakech at 1:20 p.m. and arrive in New York/Newark at 4:30 p.m. The return flight, UA 628, will depart New York/Newark at 9:50 p.m. and arrive in Marrakech at 11:20 a.m. the following day.
United remains the first and only airline offering nonstop flights between Marrakech and the New York metropolitan area. The expanded service will provide seamless connectivity via United’s New York/Newark hub to nearly 80 destinations across the Americas.
The expansion builds on United’s successful inaugural season. “United is proud to have carried over 16,000 customers and nearly 100 tonnes of cargo on more than 130 flights in both directions during the inaugural season of the service last year,” Badiani noted.
Flights will be operated with United’s premium Boeing 767-300 aircraft. The plane features 46 United Polaris business suites with direct aisle access, 22 United Premium Plus seats, and 99 economy seats, including 43 Economy Plus seats with added legroom.
United Polaris business class offers a premium travel experience with quality inflight dining, amenity products from Therabody and Saks Fifth Avenue, and full flat-bed seats with all aisle access. United Premium Plus features more legroom and recline than standard seats, along with amenity kits and Saks Fifth Avenue blankets.
Newark Liberty International Airport, located just 23 kilometers from Manhattan, offers fast surface transfer to many parts of New York City, including the AirTrain service to New York Penn Station in midtown Manhattan with a journey time of less than 30 minutes.
During the autumn/winter season 2025/26, United plans to serve more than 140 domestic and international destinations in 42 countries from Newark. The hub is United’s largest transatlantic gateway, with service to 25 destinations in Europe, India, Africa, and the Middle East.

The Marrakech-New York route is part of United’s largest international expansion in its history, adding six new destinations and nine new routes across the Atlantic. This includes five new flights from New York/Newark to destinations no other US airline serves, such as Nuuk, Greenland; Bilbao, Spain; Palermo, Italy; and Madeira Island and Faro, Portugal.
United has also added three new routes from Washington, DC/Dulles (IAD), including its first-ever flight to Dakar, Senegal, and new seasonal flights to Nice, France, and Venice, Italy, as well as a new seasonal service between Rome and Denver.
When the Marrakech route was first launched in October 2024, it represented the first direct flight operated by an American-owned airline from the US to Morocco. The initial service operated three times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.
The launch was a collaboration between United Airlines and Morocco’s Tourism Office (ONMT) as part of the office’s “Light in Action” strategy to boost the country’s tourism sector.
“This direct flight brings the vibrant souks and rich heritage of Marrakech closer than ever to American travelers while reinforcing our position as the leading transatlantic carrier,” stated Patrick Quayle, Senior Vice President of Global Network Planning and Alliances at United Airlines, at the time of the inaugural flight.
“This new United route will help bring Moroccans and Americans closer together… These interpersonal exchanges are the foundation of our relationship with our oldest ally – a friendship that dates back to the very origins of the United States,” said then-US Ambassador to Morocco Puneet Talwar, commenting on the launch.
The enhanced service is expected to further strengthen tourism ties between Morocco and the US, contributing to Morocco’s goal of increasing tourist arrivals and boosting the tourism sector, which is a key contributor to the country’s economy.
