Marrakech – TOD, the sports and entertainment streaming platform by the Qatari beIN Media Group, launched in Morocco on Wednesday, as the country prepares to host the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2025.
The platform represents a comprehensive over-the-top streaming service that consolidates sports and entertainment content into a single subscription. TOD was originally launched in 2022 by beIN Media Group and operates across multiple countries in the MENA region.
The service enters the Moroccan market with advanced streaming capabilities designed for football fans. TOD offers 4K streaming, automatic post-match highlights, and personalized features, including watchlists, favorites, and intelligent content recommendations powered by algorithms.
The digital hub is supported through web browsers and dedicated applications for Android and iOS devices, allowing access on smartphones, tablets, and other connected devices.
The platform also features support for multiple devices and concurrent streams depending on the subscription plan. Users can access download options for offline viewing in certain cases.
TOD provides live sports coverage, replays, comprehensive statistics, live TV channels, movies, series, and children’s programming.
The OTT ecosystem rolls out a suite of region-tailored subscription plans, from “Sports” and “Entertainment” to the fully integrated “All In” package.
The service centers around TOD360, an interactive experience that provides live statistics, multi-view options, match timelines, player data, heatmaps, and fan zones. This feature transforms how fans follow matches, whether at home or on mobile devices.
The platform supports Arabic, English, and French commentary through partnerships with major telecom operators.
“Morocco has some of the most passionate football fans in the world. We see them. We value them. And we want to be present for them in a meaningful way,” said Peter Mrkic, Managing Director at TOD.
“At TOD, our vision is simple: give every fan the best access, the best quality, and the best experience. We understand the Moroccan fan, bringing seamless viewing opportunities to audiences across the country.”
A stage for Africa’s rising potential
The expansion aligns with Morocco’s digital transformation and the country’s 5G era, which officially launched just one month ago. TOD uses cloud-based infrastructure to ensure stable streaming during peak viewing periods, particularly during major sporting events when audience demand peaks.
“Morocco is moving forward with impressive speed. The country is investing, building, and setting new regional benchmarks. We at TOD want to be part of that momentum,” Mrkic added.
Moroccan subscribers gain access to one of the most comprehensive sports catalogs available, including the UEFA Champions League, FIFA World Cup, Premier League, LaLiga, Ligue 1, CAF Champions League, CAF Confederation Cup, Formula 1, NBA, ATP Tour, ONE Championship, and all four tennis Grand Slams.
TOD continues investing in “TOD Originals,” original programming that reflects regional voices and stories, with new titles planned for 2026. This forms part of a broader strategy to deliver meaningful content for audiences across the region and establish TOD as a cultural player throughout the MENA region.
The launch comes as Morocco prepares to host AFCON 2025 from December 21 to January 18, 2026. The tournament will feature 24 national teams across six groups, with matches in Casablanca, Rabat, Marrakech, Tangier, Agadir, and Fez.
Morocco previously hosted AFCON in 1988 and has recently organized major events, including the FIFA Club World Cup (2022), African Nations Championship (2018), Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (2022 and 2025), U17 Men’s AFCON, and U17 Women’s World Cup (2025).
The 35th AFCON will showcase Morocco’s upgraded stadiums, training facilities, transport networks, and accommodation infrastructure. All venues have undergone renovations to meet CAF and FIFA international standards.
The tournament represents more than a football competition, serving as a celebration of African unity and showcasing modern Africa’s organizational potential.
