The decisive moment came in the 64th minute, when Brahim Diaz scored a brilliant goal to break the deadlock and send the Atlas Lions through to the next round.

The Real Madrid midfielder showed his class with a clever dribble past a Tanzanian defender before cutting inside and firing a precise shot with his right foot straight into the net.

The move began with captain Achraf Hakimi, who delivered a well-timed pass that allowed Diaz to exploit space and create the decisive moment.

Diaz’s strike came after a dominant performance from Morocco, who controlled 72% of possession and registered 12 shots, but struggled to convert chances in the first hour. His goal lifted the atmosphere inside the stadium, with fans erupting in celebration.

In a touching gesture, Diaz celebrated by raising the shirt of injured teammate Azzedine Ounahi, who was ruled out before the match due to injury. The act was seen as a sign of solidarity, showing the unity and spirit within the Moroccan squad.

Morocco’s defense remained solid, with Yassine Bounou keeping a clean sheet and defenders Nayef Aguerd, Noussair Mazraoui, and Adam Masina neutralizing Tanzania’s limited attacks.

Morocco will now wait to face the winner of South Africa vs Cameroon, who play later tonight at 8:00 p.m. (GMT+1), as the Atlas Lions continue their quest for a second continental title,e their first since 1976.
