The football world prepares for the March 2026 FIFA international break, and Morocco is turning into the world’s football capital for that crucial period. The FRMF just confirmed they’re hosting a huge lineup of friendlies and a multi-nation tournament, with teams from all over heading to the country to play.

Morocco will host the sixth edition of the “Morocco, Capital of African Football” tournament from March 23 to March 31, 2026. This event will bring together eight national teams, including seven from across Africa and Palestine from the Asian Football Confederation, for a series of friendly matches in Rabat and Casablanca.

As announced, the match schedule will see each team play twice over the course of the week:

March 27 lineups

  • Libya vs Niger
  • Mauritania vs Liberia
  • Benin vs Palestine
  • Togo vs Guinea

March 31 lineups

  • Guinea vs Benin
  • Liberia vs Libya
  • Niger vs Togo
  • Palestine vs Mauritania

Morocco’s own international friendlies

In addition to hosting other national teams, the Moroccan national team itself has scheduled two FIFA window friendlies as part of its build-up to the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The Atlas Lions will use the break to test squad cohesion and tactical approaches against strong international opponents.

The Royal Moroccan Football Federation has confirmed that Morocco will face Ecuador on March 27, 2026, at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano Stadium in Madrid, Spain, and four days later, on March 31, 2026, the national team will play Paraguay at Stade Bollaert-Delelis in Lens, France.

These March friendlies are all about two things: getting some solid practice against non-African teams and fine-tuning the squad’s tactics before the World Cup. With Morocco drawn into Group C against Brazil, Scotland, and Haiti, these matches are the perfect chance to see if the team is truly ready for the big stage in the US, Canada, and Mexico.
