Rabat – Moroccan international Chemsedine Talbi has reaffirmed that his full focus with the Atlas Lions remains firmly on football, stressing that any off-field matters fall under the responsibility of the federation.
Speaking to the press following Morocco’s 2–1 friendly victory over Paraguay, Talbi addressed recent developments with composure.
“I didn’t necessarily react to the news in a particular way. What has happened has happened, and now it is up to the federation to handle it” he said.
“For us, the focus is entirely on football. I simply see myself as a Moroccan player trying to represent my country and make it proud.” The Sunderland player also reflected on the team’s performance, underlining the positives while acknowledging that improvements are still needed. “As for the second match, I think we delivered a good performance,” he noted.
“There are always aspects we need to work on, but hopefully we will be ready for the World Cup. I believe we started the game well. It wasn’t easy to find direct solutions early on, but in the second half we managed to adjust, and thankfully, we were able to score twice.”
