Agadir – Royal Air Maroc (RAM) has taken delivery of a new Boeing 737-8 MAX aircraft, continuing its fleet expansion to strengthen the operational capacity of its lineup.

According to Le360, the aircraft arrived today at Mohammed V International Airport as part of a lease agreement with Aviation Capital Group (ACG), major global aircraft lessor, under a broader contract covering six aircraft of the same type.

This marks the second Boeing 737-8 MAX received by RAM, following an earlier delivery on March 31. According to the airline, six aircraft from this series are expected to be delivered throughout 2026.

“ACG is honored to partner with Royal Air Maroc on the lease and delivery of the first of six Boeing 737-8 MAX aircraft,” said Thomas Baker, Chief Executive Officer and President of ACG during the first delivery.

“This transaction builds on our longstanding relationship and supports the airline’s continued fleet modernization and expansion plans with these latest generation, fuel-efficient aircraft. We look forward to delivering the remaining aircraft through 2026,” Baker added.

The newly delivered aircraft, registered CN-RHP, is powered by CFM International LEAP-1B engines and comes from ACG’s orderbook.

The aircraft is part of a broader leasing agreement that reinforces the long-standing partnership between RAM and the California-based lessor, which manages around 450 aircraft leased to approximately 85 airlines across 50 countries. Founded in 1989, ACG is a wholly owned subsidiary of Tokyo Century Corporation.

For RAM, the arrival of six narrowbody aircraft comes at a critical moment as the airline pursues an ambitious expansion strategy aimed at turning Mohammed V International Airport into a global hub connecting Africa, Europe, and the Americas.

Chief Executive Officer Abdelhamid Addou has outlined a long-term vision to scale up the airline’s fleet from 60 aircraft to 200 by 2037, while increasing annual passenger capacity to over 31 million.
