Agadir – The French Minister Delegate to the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, in charge of Francophonie, International Partnerships, and French Nationals Abroad, Éléonore Caroit, is set to visit Morocco on May 4-5, as part of efforts to deepen bilateral cooperation between Rabat and Paris.
According to the French Embassy in Morocco, the visit will focus on key areas of cooperation supported by the French Development Agency (AFD), alongside initiatives linked to institutional partnerships, education, and cultural exchange.
On Monday, May 4, the French official will tour several AFD-backed projects in Morocco covering water and sanitation infrastructure, urban transport systems, and sustainable forest management.
Caroit will also attend the inauguration of new offices for the French National Research Institute for Sustainable Development (IRD) at the French diplomatic campus in Rabat. The move reflects another dimension of the Morocco- France cooperation in research.
She is also expected to take part in the African Open Government Conference, scheduled in Rabat from May 5 to 7, a major continental platform focusing on transparency, public governance, and citizen participation.
The French minister will hold talks with Amal El Fallah Seghrouchni, Minister Delegate to the Head of Government in charge of Digital Transition, with discussions expected to address digital governance and administrative modernization. She will also meet Aidan Eyakuza, President and CEO of the Open Government Partnership.
The visit coincides with this year’s International Book Fair (SIEL) in Rabat, where France is the guest of honor.
Caroit will attend alongside Mohamed Saad Berrada, Minister of National Education, Preschool and Sports, and will also participate in the launch of a French-language reading competition, highlighting the cultural and educational dimension of bilateral relations.
