Agadir – Morocco signed a series of strategic partnership agreements and memoranda of understanding during the Gaming Expo 2026 held in Rabat from May 20 to 24, aiming to develop Morocco’s video game industry.

“As part of the Morocco Gaming Expo 2026, a ceremony was held to sign a series of strategic partnership agreements and memoranda of understanding, reflecting the growing momentum of Morocco’s video game industry and the shared commitment to developing a strong and integrated national ecosystem,” Morocco’s Youth, Culture, and Communication Ministry announced.

Among the partnerships signed were agreements involving the Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation, the Deposit and Management Fund (CDG), and the Moroccan Society of Tourism Engineering (SMIT).

Additional memoranda of understanding were concluded with UNICEF, HP, and eSTEM Morocco to support training programs, foster innovation, and encourage Moroccan talent in technology and creative industries.

The partnerships align with broader national efforts to invest in youth, digital transformation, and future-oriented industries.

“These partnerships reaffirm the commitment of various national and international institutions to supporting the royal vision aimed at investing in youth, the digital economy, and the professions of the future, while consolidating Morocco’s position as an emerging regional hub for the video game industry,” the ministry further explained.

This year’s Morocco Gaming Expo was inaugurated by Prince Moulay El Hassan in Rabat on Tuesday. The opening pointed to the importance Morocco places on youth-oriented digital industries and future technologies.

Organized by the Ministry of Youth, Culture, and Communication, this year’s edition was held under the theme “Moroccan Talent,” highlighting local creators, developers, startups, and esports players contributing to Morocco’s expanding gaming sector.

During his visit, Prince Moulay El Hassan toured exhibition spaces featuring startups, gaming studios, investors, telecom operators, hardware manufacturers, and cloud gaming providers. He also visited esports competition areas and inaugurated an esports football tournament.
