Moroccan international Abdessamad Ezzalzouli has attracted strong interest from the Premier League, with Newcastle United and Aston Villa closely monitoring the Real Betis winger ahead of the summer transfer window.
According to Spanish outlet La Razón, the two English clubs are following the 24-year-old after his impressive season in Spain.
Ezzalzouli has been one of Real Betis’ standout players this campaign, scoring 15 goals and providing 13 assists in 43 matches across all competitions.
Aston Villa, managed by Spanish coach Unai Emery and qualified for next season’s UEFA Champions League, are reportedly keeping a close eye on the Moroccan winger’s situation.
However, Newcastle United appear to be the most determined club in the race. The Magpies are looking to strengthen their attack and could see Ezzalzouli as a replacement for Anthony Gordon, who recently signed with FC Barcelona.
Reports suggest Real Betis are open to sell their Moroccan star if they receive the right offer.
According to La Razón, the Andalusian club has set a minimum asking price of €50 million for Ezzalzouli. The figure is below the player’s €60 million release clause but would still represent a major transfer for the Spanish side.
The financial structure of any deal could also benefit Barcelona, Ezzalzouli’s former club. Under the terms of his transfer to Betis, Barcelona are entitled to 20 percent of any future capital gain from the player’s sale.
That means Betis, who are reportedly seeking financial flexibility, want to secure a deal that guarantees them around €40 million in net income if the Moroccan winger leaves this summer.
Despite recent speculation, the report adds that neither Ezzalzouli nor Barcelona are considering a reunion, leaving the Premier League as the most likely destination should the player depart Sevilla.
