Rabat – Morocco’s General Directorate of Meteorology (DGM) forecasts a heatwave, stormy rainfall, and strong hail today, affecting several provinces from Thursday to Saturday.
The directorate also warned of hail risks.
High temperatures ranging between 41 and 44 degrees Celsius will affect the provinces of Errachidia, Zagora, Tata, Assa-Zag, Es-Semara, Boujdour, Aousserd, and Oued Ed-Dahab.
Stormy rainfall between 20 and 25 millimeters, as well as wind and hail, are expected in the provinces of Boulemane, Jerada, and Figuig from 2 p.m. to 11 p.m.
The provinces of Tangier-Assilah and Fahs Anjra will experience strong winds of 75-80 kilometers per hour from Thursday at 11 a.m. to Friday at 11 p.m.
Weather conditions in Morocco remain relatively hot during this period, with summer officially expected to begin in about a week. However, conditions in Rabat remain relatively mild compared to the same period last year.
Late May saw notably high temperatures in the capital, with peaks reaching around 40 degrees Celsius , while Rabat itself recorded slightly lower values at times.
