Rabat – The Executive Office of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, approved a record budget of MAD 965 million during its meeting on Friday, as officials outlined a series of reforms aimed at strengthening governance, improving infrastructure, and accelerating the development of national football.

During the meeting, National Professional Football League President Abdeslam Belkchour presented a review of the league’s progress between 2022 and 2026, highlighting advances in digital transformation, competition management, and the modernization of services provided to clubs.

Belkchour said the MAD 965 million budget reflects the continued growth of Moroccan professional football, supported by efforts to expand digitalization, strengthen governance, upgrade training facilities, and resolve outstanding financial and administrative disputes involving clubs.

His presentation also included figures on player registrations, foreign players, domestic transfers, players promoted from the amateur divisions, and youth competitions.

Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) President Fouzi Lekjaa said the next phase of reforms will focus on increasing the independence of the national leagues, with plans for them to relocate to dedicated headquarters before the end of the year, reaffirming the federation’s commitment to investing in sports infrastructure.

Lekjaa called for greater emphasis on sports marketing, improving the matchday experience for supporters, enhancing competition organization, and expanding investment in youth development. Stressing the importance of identifying and developing promising young players, particularly those eligible to represent Morocco internationally, to strengthen the country’s national teams.

The meeting concluded with officials reaffirming their commitment to closer coordination between the FRMF, the National Professional Football League, and clubs to improve the organization, governance, and competitiveness of Botola Pro, building on the growing continental and international standing of Moroccan football.
