Rabat – Egyptian football club Al Ahly announced on Sunday that it has signed Moroccan forward Soufiane Benjdida from Morocco’s MAS Fez on a three-year contract.
The club said the deal was finalized after Essam Serag Eldin, head of Al Ahly’s recruitment department, traveled to Morocco to complete the financial and administrative procedures in coordination with football director Wael Gomaa.
Al Ahly thanked MAS Fez for its cooperation throughout the negotiations, describing the transfer as a reflection of the strong relationship between the two clubs.
“The club extends its thanks to its brother club, MAS Fez, headed by Omar Bennis, for its cooperation in completing the deal, within the framework of the good relationship that brings Al Ahly together with its brothers in Morocco,” the statement said.
The club also confirmed that Benjdida has signed a contract that will keep him at Al Ahly for the next three seasons.
The 24-year-old striker joined MAS Fez in 2024 after beginning his professional career with Raja Casablanca, one of Morocco’s most successful clubs. Known for his movement inside the penalty area, pressing, and work rate, Benjdida has built a reputation as a hardworking forward capable of playing both as a central striker and in wider attacking positions.
Benjdida is regarded as a promising attacking player with significant room for development. His performances in the Botola Pro attracted interest thanks to his energy, technical ability, and willingness to contribute defensively as well as in attack. The young player finished as Botola’s top scorer with 20 goals.
The move gives Al Ahly another attacking option as the Egyptian giants continue strengthening their squad for the upcoming domestic and continental competitions. Benjdida also becomes the latest Moroccan player to join the Cairo-based club, which has a long history of signing talent from Morocco.
