Casablanca – Kawkab Marrakech have appointed former Moroccan international Youssef Safri as head coach ahead of the upcoming season.
The club confirmed in an official statement that it had reached an agreement with Safri to take charge of the team, succeeding Hicham Dmiai. Contract details, including its duration, were not disclosed.
The appointment comes as Kawkab look to strengthen their team ahead of the new campaign by bringing an experienced coach in Moroccan football, both as a player and as a coach.
Safri is one of the most respected figures in Moroccan football, having made his mark as a player before moving into coaching. He previously served as an assistant coach with Raja Casablanca and Difaa El Jadida, while also enjoying a coaching spell with Qatar SC.
Safri is expected to begin his duties in the coming days as he oversees the team’s preparations, with the club hoping to push for a strong season.
