Rabat – Moroccan international Imrân Louza has emerged as one of the Championship’s most sought-after midfielders this summer, with clubs from England, France, the Netherlands, Italy, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar expressing interest in signing the Watford playmaker.
According to reports, Watford have valued the 27-year-old at around €10 million, reflecting both his importance to the club and the growing demand for his services ahead of the 2026-2027 season.
Louza remains under contract with the English club, but his consistent performances have attracted attention from teams seeking an experienced midfielder capable of dictating play, progressing the ball, and contributing defensively.
Premier League clubs join the race
Interest from the Premier League has intensified in recent weeks.
Crystal Palace are among the clubs to have made inquiries about Louza’s availability as they look to strengthen their midfield ahead of the new campaign.
Meanwhile, Everton have reportedly followed the Moroccan international closely, dispatching scouts to monitor his performances. Reports suggest the club has been impressed by his vision, passing range, and ability to control the tempo of matches, making him a potential option as they reshape their squad.
French clubs eye return to Ligue 1
Louza could also be set for a return to French football.
Newly promoted Paris FC have reportedly made the midfielder one of their priority targets, with reports indicating that discussions over personal terms have progressed. The Paris-based club views Louza as a player capable of bringing leadership and top-level experience to its midfield as it prepares for life in Ligue 1.
Fellow Ligue 1 side OGC Nice are also monitoring the situation and could enter the race should they decide to strengthen their midfield before the transfer window closes.
Ajax monitoring situation
Dutch giants Ajax Amsterdam have also been linked with the Moroccan international.
The Eredivisie club is reportedly exploring the possibility of signing Louza as it continues to rebuild its squad with technically gifted midfielders capable of fitting Ajax’s possession-based style of play.
Although no formal offer has been confirmed, Ajax remains among the clubs following the situation closely.
Serie A and Gulf interest
Interest extends beyond England, France, and the Netherlands.
Italian side Como 1907, which has ambitious plans following its rise in Serie A, is reportedly considering a move for Louza as it looks to add quality and experience to its midfield.
At the same time, clubs from Saudi Arabia and Qatar are monitoring the Moroccan international, with the financial power of the Gulf leagues offering another possible destination should negotiations with European clubs fail to materialize.
Watford reluctant to sell
Despite the growing list of admirers, Watford are not actively seeking to part ways with one of their most influential players.
The Championship club reportedly views much of the transfer speculation as a normal consequence of the summer window and remains keen to retain Louza as a central figure in its ambitions for the upcoming season.
By placing a valuation of approximately €10 million on the midfielder, Watford has made it clear that any interested club will have to submit a significant offer to open negotiations.
A key figure for Morocco
Since choosing to represent Morocco at the international level, Louza has become an important option for the Atlas Lions.
The midfielder featured prominently during Morocco’s run to the 2022 FIFA World Cup semi-finals before injuries temporarily interrupted his international progress. Since returning to full fitness, he has re-established himself as one of Morocco’s most technically gifted midfielders.
Known for his composure on the ball, intelligent passing, and ability to operate in both defensive and advanced midfield roles, Louza remains an attractive option for clubs seeking experience combined with creativity.
With several weeks remaining in the transfer window, competition for the Moroccan international could intensify, leaving Watford with an important decision should formal bids arrive.
