Meknes – Moroccan goalkeeper Munir El Kajoui has agreed to a two-year contract extension with RS Berkane, keeping him at the club until the summer of 2028.
The Atlas Lions shot-stopper originally joined the Oranges in the summer of 2024 and played a key role in helping the team secure its historic first Botola Pro title.
The Berkane-based club announced El Kajoui’s contract extension across their official social media platforms, captioning the post with “The journey continues.” The message points out the club’s clear commitment to keeping the Moroccan goalkeeper as a vital part of their plans moving forward.
This move comes as management seeks to maintain stability between the posts and keep an experienced leader on the squad.
Securing the veteran goalkeeper is particularly crucial now, as backup keeper Anas Znaiti approaches the end of his contract and prepares for a new move.
With extensive experience across top-flight clubs and the Moroccan national team, the 37-year-old keeper brings invaluable leadership to RS Berkane. His proven track record at both the domestic and international levels makes him a key asset for the squad, both on the pitch and in the dressing room.
Since joining RS Berkane in July 2024, El Kajoui anchored the club to a historic 2024/25 double. Serving as the starting goalkeeper, he helped secure the team’s first-ever Botola Pro championship and won the CAF Confederation Cup.
