Safi – Olympiacos are among the clubs interested in Moroccan striker Tawfik Bentayeb, according to Greek media, as the Union Touarga forward draws attention across Europe after a standout season in France.
Bentayeb, 24 year-old, spent last season on loan at Troyes, where his 20 goals made him the top scorer in France’s Ligue 2, the second tier, and helped the club win promotion to Ligue 1.
He is contracted to Union Touarga of Morocco’s Botola Pro and had a previous loan at Rodez in 2024-25.
Olympiacos has been linked with the Casablanca-born forward for some time. More recently, the French outlet Foot Mercato reported that the Greek club had made an offer, though neither side has confirmed a bid.
Union Touarga are reportedly seeking at least €4 million (about MAD 43 million) to let him go.
Olympiacos are not alone. In Belgium, Standard Liège made an official offer, and Union Saint-Gilloise bid €3.5 million (about MAD 38 million), the newspaper Le Soir noted.
The paper added that Bentayeb favored a move to Belgium. Turkish and Spanish clubs, including Beşiktaş and Levante, have also shown interest.
The saga has grown complicated. The Belgian daily L’Avenir wrote that the Standard move had cooled amid what it called fake agents and fake mandates, and that a deal now appeared unlikely.
Bentayeb is valued at around €8 million. No club has reached an agreement with Union Touarga, and his future remains open as the transfer window continues.
