Rabat – The Moroccan National Olympic Committee has announced financial bonuses for Moroccan athletes who win medals at the 2026 Mediterranean Games in Taranto, Italy, with the amounts varying according to the medal won and the type of competition.
For individual events, Moroccan athletes will receive MAD 100,000 (USD 10,700) for a gold medal, MAD 50,000 (USD 5,350) for silver, and MAD 25,000 (USD 2,675) for bronze.
In group competitions involving two to four athletes, the rewards will stand at MAD 50,000 (USD 5,350) for gold, MAD 25,000 (USD 2,675) for silver, and MAD 15,000 (USD 1,605) for bronze.
For teams composed of more than five athletes, the bonuses will amount to MAD 30,000 (USD 3,210) for gold, MAD 20,000 (USD 2,140) for silver, and MAD 10,000 (USD 1,070) for bronze.
The Moroccan Olympic Committee also announced a special financial allocation for national coaches, coaches working with sports associations, and the associations themselves.
This additional bonus represents 50% of the amount awarded to the medal-winning athletes.
The initiative aims to reward Moroccan athletes and their sporting support teams for their performances at the Mediterranean Games while providing additional recognition for the coaches and associations contributing to their success.
