Rabat – Distributors raised pump prices late Wednesday, with the new rates taking effect from 11:50 p.m. Gasoil increased by MAD 0.80 per liter, while super gasoline rose by MAD 0.39 per liter, according to converging reports.
The latest adjustment brings the indicative price of gasoil to around MAD 15.81 per liter, up from approximately MAD 15.01. Super gasoline now costs around MAD 15.33 per liter, compared with MAD 14.94 previously. Actual prices can vary depending on the city, distributor and individual service station.
The increase marks a sharper adjustment for gasoil than the previous revision at the beginning of September. At that time, gasoil prices increased by only MAD 0.06 per liter, while gasoline prices remained unchanged.
Fuel prices have undergone several changes since the beginning of the summer. Gasoil prices rose by nearly MAD 0.70 per liter in mid-July, followed by an increase of around MAD 1 at the beginning of August. Additional increases followed during August before the smaller adjustment recorded at the start of September.
Gasoline followed a similar pattern. Its price increased several times in July and August before falling slightly in mid-August. It then remained stable during the most recent revision before Wednesday’s increase.
The latest increase also comes as international energy markets continue to face pressure, affecting Moroccan pump prices due to persistent tensions in international energy markets, which affect fuel prices in Morocco.
Other converging reports highlighted the same increases but gave different indicative pump prices based on prices recorded at specific stations. Some reported that gasoil could reach around MAD 16.10 to MAD 16.13 per liter in Casablanca, while super gasoline could reach around MAD 15.58 to MAD 15.59.
The differences reflect variations between distributors, locations and stations. The increases themselves remain the same, with gasoil up MAD 0.80 and super gasoline up MAD 0.39 per liter.
