The Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) has urged the US administration to respond to reports on an Israeli “execution-style massacre” of women, children and babies seeking refuge in a school in Gaza.

On Wednesday, Al Jazeera said in a video report that Palestinian civilians sheltering inside a Gaza school were killed “execution” style by Israeli occupation forces inside the Shadia  Abu Ghazala School in the Al Falujja area, west of Jabalia refugee camp.

The news outlet aired footage that showed bodies piled up inside the school, including newborn babies.

“They were all killed, executed at gunpoint,” a witness told Al Jazeera, which said it has exclusive testimonies of the massacre.

“In exclusive testimonies obtained by Al Jazeera, witnesses describe the horrific sights they encountered inside a school in northern Gaza following an Israeli attack,” the news outlet said.

The American-Muslim council expressed  its deep concern about the situation, stressing that the “apparent Israeli execution of civilians is similar to the reported execution of wounded, unarmed Palestinian civilians in the West Bank.”

Recalling the Biden administration’s blind support for Israel’s disastrous and bloody war against Gaza, the council said that US officials “must respond” to such reports.

“Because the Biden administration stands almost alone on the world stage in defending and enabling the far-right Israeli government’s campaign of ethnic cleansing and genocide in Gaza, administration officials must respond to the reported execution-style massacre of women, children and babies seeking refuge in a school in Gaza,” the council’s national communications director Ibrahim Hooper said.

The director also pointed to US opposition to efforts seeking to ensure a ceasefire  to end Israeli aggression.

This was reflected on Tuesday, as the US again voted against a UN General Assembly resolution calling for a ceasefire in Gaza.

The UN made a similar act on Friday, vetoing a similar resolution to end the violence in Gaza.

Israeli occupation forces have been intensifying their bloody war since October 7. They killed over 18,680 people in Gaza and the occupied West Bank.

Many US Muslims have joined the online #AbandonBiden campaign, vowing to not support the US President’s re-election in the upcoming 2024 presidential elections.
