Rabat – KFC Morocco is planning to open ten new restaurants in different cities of the Kingdom by the end of 2023, following up with its expansion plan announced at the beginning of last year.
Specializing in fried chicken, the fast food brand is thinking big of opening in ten new Moroccan cities, particularly at service stations, a novelty for the brand’s franchise in Morocco.
As per KFC’s initial expansion plan announced at the start of 2022, the fast food brand opened ten restaurants with an overall investment of MAD 30 million ($2.9 million) in the same year. Through the ten additional openings announced for this year, the overall investment of the expansion strategy will allow the creation of 300 additional direct jobs by the end of the current year.
KFC Morocco’s vision is to “rely on the promotion and use of Moroccan products. We carry out periodic studies in order to know the needs and requirements of our local target,” Kadmiri argued, stressing that “we are working in this direction to adapt our messages and our prices, to best meet consumer’s demand.”
American fast-food brands, namely McDonald’s, Burger King, KFC, Pizza Hut, and Domino’s Pizza have been dominating the Moroccan market in recent years. And with the US brands Fresh Authentic Tasty (FAT), Fatburger, and Buffalo’s Express all opening in Marrakech last year, it appears this trend will not be reversed any time soon.
