Rabat – King Mohammed VI chaired today a Ramadan lecture at the Royal Palace in Rabat.
The lecture, the second King Mohammed VI chaired since the start of this year’s holy month of Ramadan, was delivered by the president of the Association of Sri Lankan Ulema, Mohamed Radoui Ben Mohamed Ibrahim.
Attending the lecture were Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan, Prince Moulay Rachid, and Prince Moulay Ismail.
Titled “How to form an ideal nation in the light of the Holy Book and the Sunna Annabaouia,” the lecture was inspired by the Hadith Al-Sharif: “People are like gold and silver; those who were best in Jahiliyyah (Pre-Islamic Period) are best in Islam if they have religious understanding.”
This comes after King Mohammed VI chaired the first religious lecture of the holy month of Ramadan on Wednesday, which was delivered by Minister of Islamic Affairs Ahmed Toufiq under the theme “The fruits of faith in human life.”
Holding religious lectures is a common tradition during the holy of Ramadan in Morocco.
During Ramadan, Muslims devote more time to worshiping and good deeds, and King Mohammed VI is always at the forefront of this trend in Morocco.
This year, the Moroccan monarch mobilized MAD 390 million ($38 million) as part of a nationwide charity campaign called “Ramadan 1444.” The campaign aims to provide assistance to one million households.
