Moroccan international and Ajax star Noussair Mazraoui has said that he will not join Arsenal, which, like many other European clubs, is battling for his services.

The Ajax right-back has stated that he is not interested in moving to the Premier League, according to Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf.

The Gunners have hoped that Mazraoui would follow in the footsteps of former Moroccan international Marouane Chamakh, who played for the London side from 2010 to 2013.

With Mazraoui’s impressive performance appealing to many European clubs, FC Barcelona, Borussia Dortmund, and AC Milan are among the clubs that expressed an interest in signing the Moroccan 24-year old.

The Moroccan international’s contract with Ajax Amsterdam is set to expire in less than six months. The player has already expressed his desire to depart from Amsterdam.

“The prospects of staying at Ajax are quite slim, perhaps 5%. I am willing to try new things. I’ve been here for 16 years and believe it’s time for me to leave Ajax,” he told the press.

The Dutch club’s leaders, for their part, have stated that they are willing to let him go.

Mazraoui has spent his entire career at Ajax, making 123 appearances in all competitions and scoring nine goals and providing eight assists, including an incredible 26 games and five goals this season.

The Moroccan international has been cut out of the national team following a disagreement with Morocco’s Bosnian coach, Vahid Halilhodzic.

Mazraoui’s involvement in the highly anticipated FIFA World Cup playoffs against the Democratic Republic of Congo is eagerly desired by fans. The Ajax right-back recently stated that his feud with Halilhodzic is over and that he is ready to play for Morocco.

It is yet to be seen if calls from Moroccan fans will change Halilhodzic’s mind and push him to call up Mazraoui.
