Rabat – Moroccan and Portuguese businesses are organizing a joint high-level meeting in Rabat from December 4 to 5. The Morocco-Portugal meeting features the attendance of Portuguese Prime Minister Antonio Costa, who landed in the Rabat-Sale airport on Monday.

Upon his arrival the Portuguese prime minister and his delegation were received by Morocco’s Head of Government, Saad Eddine El Othmani.

The 13th session of the Morocco-Portugal high-level meeting will see the signature of a series of cooperation agreements on different fields. The meeting will be co-chaired by El Othmani and Costa, who is leading a delegation composed of government members, top officials and businessmen.

During the 12th high-level meeting, which was held in 2015, Morocco and Portugal signed many agreements on different fields, including tourism, security, sports and energy.

In recent years, bilateral bonds between the two countries have developed in different fields. In 2016, Portuguese Foreign Minister Augusto Santos Silva said that his country and Morocco agreed to boost their cooperation in the field of training diplomats.

Discussions on investments were also held by Santos Silva and Moulay Hafid Elalami, Morocco’s Minister of Industry, Trade, Investment and Digital Economy.
