Rabat – As the Moroccan football team Wydad of Casablanca (WAC) gears up in Egypt to play against the country’s squad Al Ahly for the CAF Champions League final, an Egyptian reporter claimed that WAC is afraid of getting sick from the local food.
Khalid El Ghandour, an Egyptian sports presenter on the local channel LTC, said that the Moroccan team came fully equipped, bringing “their own cook, foods, water and juices.”
El Ghandour added that WAC refused packs of bottled water that El Ahly sent them.
“It was said that a member of the board of directors of Sahel Star [Tunisian team] told WAC to not accept anything from Al Ahly as the club caused the illness of some footballers, who had stomach ache through food and water,” said the presenter, further claiming that WAC footballers decided to not get anything or eat anything in Egypt.
“Therefore the footballers will stick to what they brought with them for food,” El Ghandour added. “Not only that but they have also arrived to Egypt through a private airplane, which is a little bit weird.”
WAC will play against El Ahly tomorrow at Borg El Arab Stadium, Egypt.
