Rabat – After Morocco announced its latest wave of flight suspensions, Tunisair has announced special repatriation flights from the Mohammed V International Airport in Casablanca.
The first flight is scheduled to leave Casablanca later today at 11:35 p.m. Tunisair said there will be a second flight on April 25, “in view of the abundance of requests.”
According to a press release, Tunisair “invites Tunisians stranded in Morocco to register with our agency or the Consulate of Tunisia to assess the potential of passengers and confirm the scheduling of the said flight.”
The Tunisian air carrier urges “those interested in returning to Tunisia” to contact the company’s agency in Casablanca, Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. or Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
On April 13, Morocco’s government announced a flight suspension with Tunisia; the decision entered into effect on April 15. The National Airport Office (ONDA) said the measure will run until further notice.
“Passengers traveling from this country through another country are also concerned,” ONDA said.

As part of Morocco’s efforts to curb the spread of COVID-19, the country announced on April 16 the suspension of flights with 13 more countries. ONDA published the full list which includes Albania, Hungary, Bulgaria, Luxembourg, Serbia, Romania, Slovakia, Cyprus, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, and Slovenia.
Morocco also decided to maintain flight suspensions with 17 other countries, until May 21, including Portugal, Italy, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland, and the Netherlands.
The announcement comes just days after Morocco suspended flights with Tunisia.
Earlier this week, Turkey’s embassy in Rabat also announced a series of repatriation flights from Morocco to Istanbul. The flights will cater to Turkish citizens and Moroccans who reside in Turkey.
