Rabat – Straddling luxurious modernity and rich history, Marrakech, or the Red City, seems to have an irresistible charm over French tourists, according to Kayak, a leading American metasearch engine, and digital travel agency.
French magazine GEO reports that only Dubai came close to competing with Marrakech in terms of search traffic in France in the period stretching between July 1, 2020, and November 20, 2021.
The “Pearl of the South,” as the Moroccan city is often described, has long been a household name and a much-coveted destination among enthusiastic tourists and professional globetrotters worldwide. In 2020, Forbes placed Marrakech in the sixth position of their list for the top 20 cities to visit.
Located at the foot of the Atlas mountains, Marrakech leaves little wanting for geographical diversity.
