Rabat – Moroccan equestrian Samy Colman won four events at the CSI2 competition in Belgium this weekend.
Colman recorded his first victory with horse Davino Q in the 1.45 meters class, against Constant Van Paesschen and Maikel Van Der Vleuten. During the event, he achieved a very fast jump-off in 34.7 seconds without any falls, according to a press release from the Royal Moroccan Federation for Equestrian Sports.
Maikel van der Vleuten with horse Kamara Van’t Heike ranked second with a clear jump-off of 34.74 seconds, followed by Constant Van Paesschen with horse Isidoor Van De Helle with a time of 35.33 seconds.
Colman achieved two other victories with his horse in the 1.35-meter jumping event.
The 26-year-old Moroccan recorded his fourth victory in the 1.40-meter jump event.
Moroccan riders Samy Colman, Majid Djaidi, Hicham Er-Radi, and Zacharias Vincent Bourguignon participated in the event.
Hicham Er-Radi ranked third in the 1.35-meter class with Milano, while Djaidi and Mister d’Eclipse completed two rounds at the Grand Prix of Lierre, finishing sixth.
It is “a great performance by our Moroccan riders who are on an international tour in Europe”, said the Federation.
Colman began horse riding at the age of 12 with support from his father, a horse-riding enthusiast.
After studying management, he decided to pursue a career as an equestrian. At the age of 18, he joined the Moroccan national equestrian team.
