Rabat – Spanish football club FC Barcelona has reportedly made a request to Moroccan football player Abdessamad Ezzalzouli, asking him not to participate in the upcoming game between Morocco’s U-23 National Football Team and the Ghanaian national team.

Football news outlet Barca Universal reported that Barcelona is concerned about the possibility of Ezzalzouli sustaining an injury during the match, noting that he is expected to join Barcelona for pre-season preparations.

The decision from Barcelona stems from Ezzalzouli’s impressive performances, as he played a significant role in helping the Spanish club reach the final of the Copa Del Rey.

The anticipated match between Morocco and Ghana is scheduled to take place today at the Prince Moulay Abdallah Stadium in Rabat at 21:00 local time.

On June 24, Morocco’s national team secured a 2-1 victory over Guinea’s national football team, with Ezzalzouli playing a crucial role in securing the win.

Ahead of the Ghana match, Moroccan national team coach Issam Charai expressed his expectations of strong support from the Moroccan public at the Prince Moulay Abdallah stadium.

Charai emphasized the significant role that fans can play in motivating and inspiring the players, noting that their support can make a difference in the outcome of the match.

“The fans will play a big role in this match. They have to encourage the players from the beginning. The fans can make a difference,” Charai highlighted at the press conference ahead of Morocco’s second match.

The Moroccan coach added that his team is prepared for the match, stressing that “they are well aware of the Ghanaian team’s strength, which relies on attack.”

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) highlighted the significance of this match and the excitement it is expected to generate, saying, “The encounter between Morocco and Ghana is poised to deliver a thrilling spectacle, with the victor securing a coveted spot in the semi-finals.”
