Rabat – Long-haul travel specialist Travelbag put Morocco among its “10 most popular wedding destinations.”
Data shared with Morocco World News said the website analyzed TikTok data for 50 popular wedding destinations.
Mexico tops the list, with 141 million views on TikTok, followed by Italy, Greece, Bali, Dominican Republic, and Sri Lanka.
UAE is seventh, followed by France, Jamaica, and finally Morocco.
The North-African country, according to the number data, receives an estimated 7.8 million views on Tik Tok.
Morocco’s tourist attractiveness makes the North African country among the top go-to destinations for many, including celebrities that chose Morocco to celebrate their weddings or other lifetime occasions.
One of the recent celebrity weddings in Morocco was that of professional football player Enzo Zidane, son of French football legend Zinedine Zidane.
The football player held a private wedding to celebrate his marriage to Karen Goclaves in the city of Marrakech in December 2022.
Moroccan businessman Yariv El-Baz also celebrated his daughter’s wedding in Marrakech in 2021, while British X Factor star Fleur East married her boyfriend Marcel Badiane Robin in Marrakech.
In September last year, Royal Mansour Marrakech hosted American actor Michael Douglas and his wife Catherine Zeta-Jones for their shared September 25th birthdays.
In the first quarter of 2023, Morocco welcomed over 2.9 million tourists, representing a 238% growth compared to the end of March 2022.
Tourists from Spain and the UK are Morocco’s main markets, with a significant increase of 45% and 28% respectively, compared to the first quarter of 2019.
The US and Italy also saw increases of 5% and 9% respectively.
