Rabat – According to the airline specialist portal Air Journal, the Spanish airline Volotea will launch a new route between the Moroccan city Agadir with Lille in France starting on November 10.
“We are launching new routes! New destinations that will make you pack your suitcase,” Volotea announced on its official X account (formerly Twitter).
Volotea will be operating a weekly service between Agadir and the French city of Lille every Sunday.
The airline notes that reservations are already open on its official website and that this route will allow travelers from Lille to experience the allure of the well-known Moroccan beach resort. The airline will operate 42 flights to this new location.
Connected to eight countries, namely France, Spain, Greece, Italy, Croatia, Bulgaria, Morocco, and Portugal, the number of seats available from Lille Airport for 2024 is 617,000, a 5% increase over the previous year.
“We are delighted to announce the launch of this new air route to Agadir from Lille airport,” said the head of the French branch of Volotea, Gilles Gosselin. He stressed that “this new route demonstrates our commitment to strengthening connectivity between the Hauts-de-France region and popular destinations such as Agadir.”
The airline chief added that this route “adds to our extensive existing network and illustrates our ongoing commitment to broadening our horizons.”
According to Air Journal, Volotea’s new route to Agadir, which is the second route to Morocco after Marrakech, is its 30th route from Lille airport, strengthening its link to Europe’s regional capitals.
In August 2023, Volotea opened a weekly service between Nantes and Agadir, with a flight every Saturday. The airline has also operated the route between Marrakech and the Spanish city of Bilbao as well as the Nantes-Marrakech route since May of last year.
