Casablanca- The president of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF);Fouzi Lekjaa, the head of FIFA, Gianni Infantino, members of the organization, and some federation presidents played a gala match today on the sidelines of the 74th FIFA Congress, held in the capital of Thailand Bangkok.
The gala match was an opportunity for football personalities, including Lekjaa and Infantino, to come together in a spirit of camaraderie and celebrate the universal appeal of football. Such events often provide a unique platform for sports leaders from different countries to meet informally and strengthen ties between federations.
In a significant move during the Congress, FIFA announced that Brazil will host the 2027 Women’s World Cup. This decision acknowledges the growing importance of women’s football in the global sports landscape and celebrates the continuous development of the sport while promoting gender equality.
Additionally, the Congress approved amendments concerning player transfers, emphasizing the integrity and regulation of the transfer market. Notably, FIFA decided that transfers of players from countries not recognized by the United Nations will not be validated.
This measure aims to ensure that transfers adhere to international principles and values, avoiding potentially contentious situations related to unrecognized jurisdictions globally.
The 74th FIFA Congress in Bangkok thus combined the spirit of the sport with important administrative decisions, reinforcing the global unity and governance of football.
