Rabat – The Royal Moroccan Federation of Karate and Associated Disciplines (FRMKDA) is celebrating a remarkable triumph as the Moroccan national team excels at this year’s African Karate Championship in Tunis.
Competing from September 6 to 8, the team displayed their skill and determination, securing a standout performance, and spotlighting Morocco’s growing dominance on the international karate stage.
The Moroccan squad, comprising 27 male and female athletes, distinguished themselves at this continental event by clinching a total of 18 medals.
This impressive collection — featuring five gold, three silver, and 10 bronze — solidifies Morocco’s status as a leading force in African karate.
These results reflect the athletes’ hard work, talent, and dedication, combined with the exceptional coaching from FRMKDA, as each medal symbolizes their commitment to representing Morocco at the highest level across the African continent.

The gold medals were clinched by Souhaib Azibou in Cadet Kata -57kg, Mohammed Es-Saidy in Junior Kumite -55kg, Rim Dourai in U21 Kumite -50kg, Salah Eddine El Bahry in U21 Kumite -75kg, and Mohamed Amine Badjou in U21 Kumite -85kg.
Silver medals were earned by Marwa Salmi in U21 Kumite, Roumayssae Tarkou in Junior Kumite -53kg, and Tijani Lamoum in Junior Kata.
Meanwhile, bronze medalists included Doae Choukri in U21 Kumite -61kg, Nejma Imtik in U21 Kumite -55kg, Ahmed Haddadi in U21 Kumite -60kg, and Douaa Elmachouat in Junior Kumite -59kg. Also securing bronze were Jiahne Bahajjou in Junior Kumite -59kg, Othmane Hebbal in Junior Kumite +76kg, Hamza Hadri in Junior Kumite -76kg, and Rayane Bouzman in Cadet Kumite -63kg.
The Kata Team, featuring Tijani Lamoum, Adam Rchouq, and Abderrahmane Chakir, along with Hamza Elmernissi in Cadet Kata, also added to the bronze medal tally.
Last month, Morocco’s national karate team also delivered an exceptional performance at the North Africa Karate Championship in Cairo, Egypt, securing a total of 25 medals, including nine gold.
