Rabat – Morocco has unveiled a modernized consular section at its embassy in the United States capital, aiming to enhance services for its growing community in America.
Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita inaugurated the renovated facilities on Tuesday, emphasizing Morocco’s commitment to providing efficient and accessible consular services to its citizens abroad.
The historic embassy building has undergone a complete overhaul, featuring state-of-the-art infrastructure and technology. The updated consular section is equipped with advanced systems to streamline the issuance of passports, national identity cards, and other administrative documents.
“The improvement of consular services is a top priority for Morocco,” Bourita said on the sidelines of the inauguration. “We aim to meet the evolving needs of our community and ensure their efficient and timely access to essential services.”
The embassy’s modernization efforts extend beyond the consular section. A new reception area and waiting room have been designed to provide a comfortable and welcoming environment for visitors.
The reopening of the Washington embassy comes ahead of the planned inauguration of a new Moroccan Consulate General in Miami, Florida.
This expansion will further strengthen Morocco’s consular presence in the United States and offer more convenient services to Moroccans residing in the southeastern region.
Morocco’s embassy in Washington has stated that its citizens can visit any Moroccan consulate or consular service in the US to receive assistance.
The embassy’s modernization reflects the North African country’s dedication to fostering strong ties with its diaspora and providing the highest quality of consular services.
