Rabat — Amine Harit is at a crossroads after he fell down the pecking order at Olympique de Marseille (OM). Manager Roberto De Zerbi insists there is still a place for him at the French club.
The 27-year-old started the season quite remarkably; he scored twice and provided three assists in nine games, of which he started eight.
However, everything changed on October 27 during Le Classique against arch-rival Paris Saint-Germain when he was shown red 20 minutes into the game. OM went on to lose 3-0 on their home ground.
The Moroccan midfielder has also missed several games due to a knee injury.
Reports suggest that OM might consider selling Harit in the January transfer window to raise funds for newcomers.
Speaking to 1899 Le Mag, De Zerbi made it clear that “Harit no longer has the right to have a season where he doesn’t score ten goals. I push him, I tell him that constantly. No one ever did that for me, so I want to do it for my players.”

Harit began his youth career in Paris Saint-Germain and Nantes. He made his professional debut with Nantes in 2016 before moving to Schalke 04 in 2017.
In 2021, he joined Marseille on loan, and his move became permanent by 2022.
Harit represented France in youth teams at first but switched allegiance to Morocco in 2017.
He made his national team debut for Morocco in October 2017 and was part of the 2018 FIFA World Cup squad. In October 2023, he scored his first goal for Morocco in a 3–0 win against Liberia during the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers under former coach Valid Halilozidch.
The Moroccan playmaker has received several awards throughout his career. In Germany, he was named Bundesliga Rookie of the Year for the 2017–18 season and the Bundesliga Player of the Month in September 2019. He was also the top assist provider in the UEFA Europa League for the 2023–24 season.
