Rabat—The streets of the capital came alive on Friday night as Morocco’s 2–0 win over Cameroon sealed a place in the AFCON 2025 semi-finals, a stage the Atlas Lions had not reached since 2004.

In Rabat, crowds flooded the city center, with Avenue Mohammed V turning into the heartbeat of the celebrations. Moroccan flags waved high, chants filled the air and car horns echoed late into the night as supporters shared the moment together.

Around Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium, the atmosphere was electric. Families, friends and strangers celebrated side by side, exchanging smiles and embraces as the significance of the achievement set in.

For many fans, the night carried extra meaning. Returning to the AFCON semi-finals for the first time in over two decades sparked a powerful sense of pride and belief, as Rabat celebrated a historic step forward and looked ahead with excitement to what comes next for the Atlas Lions.

Now, the Atlas Lions must wait to learn their semi-final opponent, as Algeria and Nigeria face off tomorrow to decide who will meet Morocco in the next stage. The suspense adds to the excitement, with fans already dreaming of a historic run to the AFCON final.
