Rabat – Cristiano Ronaldo returned from injury, scoring twice as Al-Nassr beat Al-Najma 5-2 and moved a step closer to the Saudi Pro League title.

The Portuguese forward had missed the previous three matches with a hamstring issue, but he showed no signs of hesitation on his return.

He started the game and played a key role in the second half, where he scored twice to secure the result.

The match also marked Ronaldo’s 100th appearance in the Saudi Pro League.

A return that made the difference

Al-Nassr did not have full control early in the game. Al-Najma took the lead just before halftime through Rakan Al Tulayhi, after a strong build-up from Felippe Cardoso.

But Al-Nassr responded quickly. Abdullah Al Hamddan equalized before the break, and Sadio Mane turned the game around in stoppage time with a solo goal that gave his team the lead.

Al-Najma equalized again after the break, this time through Cardoso. The game remained open until Ronaldo stepped in.

He scored his first goal from the penalty spot after a handball decision inside the box. He then added a second with a close-range finish following a low cross. The assistant initially flagged for offside, but VAR confirmed the goal.

Numbers that still stand out

Ronaldo’s return shows his consistency. He has now scored 97 goals in his first 100 league matches in Saudi Arabia, a figure that keeps him ahead of every other player in the competition.

Ronaldo also led the game in shots and chances created, showing he remains central to Al-Nassr’s attacking play.

After the match, Ronaldo shared a message on social media.

“It’s good to be back! We move forward together!” he wrote.

The win puts Al-Nassr six points clear at the top of the table, increasing the pressure on their closest rivals, Al-Hilal.
