Rabat – Morocco’s General Directorate of Meteorology said today that strong winds, blowing sand, and snowfall are expected in several provinces from Thursday through Saturday.
Strong wind gusts ranging between 70 and 85 kilometers per hour will affect the province of Figuig starting Thursday afternoon and continuing until 9 p.m.
The weather agency also forecasts snowfall at elevations above 2,000 meters in altitude, with expected accumulations between 10 and 25 centimeters in the provinces of Ouarzazate, Azilal, Midelt, Tinghir, Taroudant, and Al Haouz.
The snowy weather will start at 6 p.m. on Thursday and will continue until Saturday, 3 p.m., according to the weather directorate.

Many dams experienced a major recovery, with total reservoirs reaching between 70 and 76% capacity by April and May.
Ahmed El Bouari, the Agriculture Minister, expects a cereal harvest of around 90 million quintals this current season.
The expected output represents a sharp increase compared to last season, when production did not exceed 44 million quintals.
On Wednesday, Reuters reported that Morocco is set to temporarily suspend soft wheat imports this summer, attributing the situation to improved rainfall that contributes to the country’s strongest grain harvests in years.
